Academic research portfolio

Cayman Seagraves, Ph.D.

I am Dr. Cayman Seagraves, Assistant Professor of Real Estate and Finance in the Department of Finance at Florida Atlantic University's College of Business and a Fellow of the Phil Smith Center for Free Enterprise. My research examines the intersection of corporate finance, real estate investment, and artificial intelligence, producing evidence for academics, investors, and decision-makers. This public portfolio brings together peer-reviewed research, working papers, teaching, and professional activity for scholars, students, investors, and practitioners who need a direct account of that work. It is maintained as an academic reference rather than a product interface: the curriculum vitae, publication records, and linked primary sources provide the most useful starting points for attribution, citation, or professional contact.

The site currently catalogs 7 publication records and a current curriculum vitae, alongside research on corporate finance, real estate investment, and artificial intelligence. Readers can use the publication pages for paper-level descriptions and source links, the CV for a complete academic record, and the contact page for the appropriate university channel. It does not offer a public API, authentication service, MCP server, or transactional workflow.

Research, teaching, and use

Welcome. I am Dr. Cayman Seagraves, Assistant Professor of Real Estate and Finance at Florida Atlantic University. My research sits at the intersection of corporate finance, real estate, and artificial intelligence, with recent work published in the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Portfolio Management, and the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management.

In the classroom, I teach finance and real estate through case studies, discounted cash flow modeling in Excel, site tours, and live property analyses. The goal is to connect rigorous theory with the judgment required in practice.

Through leadership as Vice-Chair of the Future Leaders of the American Real Estate Society, a fellowship with the Phil Smith Center for Free Enterprise, and AI-forward curriculum work with Blended Teaching, I work to advance academic rigor and professional readiness.

This portfolio is designed to make the public record easier to examine without collapsing distinctions among published articles, working papers, professional activity, and external platforms. Publication descriptions are orientation aids, not substitutes for the linked scholarly record. When accuracy matters, readers should verify a claim against the relevant publisher page, DOI, SSRN record, university source, or the current CV.

Finance, Real Estate, and AI

Research that connects scholarly rigor with market practice.

I study how corporate finance, real estate, and artificial intelligence shape markets, portfolios, and decision-making, then translate that work into workshops, media commentary, and applied platforms.
